American-made, conservation-focused clothing brand debuts in Myrtle Beach

428 Loggerhead Apparel's signature Bellwether360 polo is 100% Made in S.C. and supports loggerhead sea turtle conservation. Myrtle Beach residents and visitors with a passion for American-made products can now purchase South Carolina-based brand, Loggerhead Apparel. Just in time for sea turtle nesting season, the apparel company’s diverse product offering allows purchasers to support coastal conservation. The brand’s signature Bellwether360 polo is available in a variety of spring colors – and can now be found at local retailer Pink Cabana, located at 5900 North Kings Highway, Suite F.

Loggerhead Apparel offers 100 percent American-grown, American-made coastal lifestyle apparel and also donates 10 percent of all sales to sea turtle conservation efforts.

According to Pink Cabana owner, Luanne Pigford, the brand was an intuitive addition to the store’s resort style product offering.

“Loggerhead Apparel has the preppy style and high quality product my customers have come to expect; Being made in the south and dedicated to coastal conservation adds a whole new dimension,” said Pigford, who currently offers Loggerhead Apparel in men’s women’s and children’s styles and sizes.

With more than 60 retailers across 11 states, Loggerhead Apparel has expanded rapidly in just two years of business. Based in Greenville, the company has been anxiously awaiting its debut to Myrtle Beach.

“We have had our eyes set on the Myrtle Beach market for quite some time, so extending our company to this coastal area was a natural transition for Loggerhead Apparel,” said co-owner Sara Painter, who started the company with her husband, Zac. “We are excited to know that this community shares our passion for purposeful products – and has the opportunity to witness our conservation efforts first-hand on the South Carolina coast.”

In the last year, Loggerhead Apparel has donated more than $30,000 to groups within the sea turtle nesting grounds, including state organizations such as the South Carolina Aquarium, South Carolina DNR Marine Turtle Conservation Program and SEWEE Association.

“People are exceedingly aware of this brand and its mission to protect the endangered loggerhead sea turtle, as well as the American worker. We expect it to do very well in our store,” commented Pigford.

About Loggerhead Apparel

Loggerhead Apparel provides premium, American-grown, American-made clothing and accessories. In the last year, they have committed more than $30,000 to groups in the Carolinas, Florida, Texas and California, including the South Carolina Aquarium, SEWEE Association and Sea Turtle Restoration Project.  Loggerhead Apparel was born in in the minds of two South Carolina natives: one a product of the Lowcountry, who grew up on the coast just north of Charleston, the other a product of the Upstate, the grandchild of mill workers in the textile town of Spartanburg. Their passion and pride for the state of South Carolina, its people, beauty, wildlife and economy, led to Loggerhead Apparel.
