Both North Myrtle Beach and Myrtle Beach have community opportunities to clean up on Saturday, November 3, 2012.

The Keep Horry County Beautiful committee is hosting the first annual Fantasy Harbour Highway Litter Cleanup Event from 10 a.m. to noon, beginning in the Freestyle Music Amusement Park parking lot.  Snacks and lunch is provided to volunteers, as are cleaning supplies.  You can read more details and get RSVP information on their Facebook event page.

In North Myrtle Beach, there's a Citywide Cleanup Day where residents are encouraged to bring their unwanted appliances, TVs, furniture, paint, pesticides, chemicals, oil and tires to the sanitation facility on Second Avenue South from 9 a.m. to noon.  All usable items will be donated to Goodwill.  You can read more about the event in this Sun News article or call Gregg Barnhill at 280-5673.  You can also email him at dgbarnhill@nmb.us.
