Floating residental cruise ship 'The World' drops by Charleston

With a gross tonnage of 43,524 tons, "The World" is one of the larger condo units in the world, and definitely the largest floating one.

The ship's some 165 residents and 100 to 300 guests pulled into the Charleston Harbor on late Monday and are due to leave today, October 26, for Savannah. But this one is more about the curious tale of the ship than anything else, and that's something the Charleston Regional Business Journal has done nicely; take a read here.

Or as their editor put it, "That's no moon, it's an entire floating residential community docked on Charleston Harbor."
