Free Diabetic Eye Screenings

November is National Diabetes Month

The Vision Center at Seaside Farms is giving Free Diabetic Eye Screenings

MT. PLEASANT - Diabetes is the leading cause of blindness in the United States.  Each year more than 24,000 people with diabetes will lose their eyesight due to complications from their disease.  This is a preventable outcome with early detection and intervention.  Annual comprehensive eye exams can discover these potentially sight threatening changes before they start causing devastating visual symptoms.  Treatment of these problems can keep them from becoming worse and/or permanent.  Unfortunately, only 49% of all adults diagnosed with diabetes in the U.S. have an annual dilated eye exam.

To help with this problem, The Vision Center at Seaside Farms and Dr. Brad Bodkin are holding a Diabetes Awareness Day on Tuesday, November 30th from 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM.  They will be providing free diabetic eye screenings.  Space is limited.

Donations to the American Diabetes Association will also be accepted.  For more information or to schedule your screening, call 388-6200 or visit www.seasidevision.com.
