Update, May 28: What was originally a $1,000 reward for info leading to figuring out who was responsible has now been doubled to $2,000; The Post and Courier has the details.

First reporting: The Post and Courier has a report of a kitten that was allegedly thrown over the side of the Ravenel Bridge early this morning, killing it.

A visitor at the Waterfront Memorial Park said the kitten struck an awning above the tables and then landed on the ground. The visitor then rushed the kitten to a veterinarian where to died soon after.

Police are asking for help from anybody who may have seen someone toss the kitten from the bridge, and if so, to contact the police department at (843) 884-4176
