Women and Power Series- An Interview with Karen Brack, City of Charleston Fire Chief

Karen Brack started her new job as the City of Charleston’s fire chief just two months ago. A native of Savannah, she’s been a fire fighter for 30 years and becomes Charleston’s first female chief. Karen started her career in Fulton County, Georgia and then moved west becoming deputy chief in the Eugene and Springfield Oregon fire departments. She now leads a 314 member fire department having been picked in a nationwide search that scrutinized over 50 candidates. Come meet Karen and hear how she has trail blazed in such an overwhelming male field.
