Year-Long Festival Season Begins at Freshfields Village

JOHNS ISLAND, SC (January 28, 2013)  -- The Art & Wine Walk at Freshfields Village will mark the official start of the 2013 event season at the dining and retail destination located at the crossroads of Kiawah, Seabrook and John’s islands.  On Friday, February 15 from 4-7 p.m. visitors will have the opportunity to see live art demonstrations and view works from local and regional artists in more than a dozen stores.  The event is free and open to the public. 

In addition to the variety of art that will be on display across a number of media such as watercolors, pottery, hand-blown glass, oil paints and photography, guests will also be able to sample an array of wine and hors d’oeuvres. 

Local and visiting artists participating this year include Fred Jamar, Amelia Rose Smith, Shirley Shaw, Kate Mullin, Alice Pruitt, Jen Bonoma, Sandy Scott and many more.  The Williams Duo, a father-son jazz group will perform in various locations throughout the evening. 

The Art & Wine Walk is the first of many events and festivals hosted throughout the year at Freshfields Village which include the Spring Concert Series, Easter Festival, Starlight Cinema and Farmer’s Market, and numerous seasonal and holiday programs.  All events are free and open to the public.
