After online posting, Upstate police officer fired in Clemson coach ticketing

Last week Clemson's football team broke into the top 10 standings, and Saturday night the team will go up against Florida — they'll also be facing a bit off-the-cuff remarks after a mild controversy surfaced over the ticketing of the team's head coach.

On September 3, Pickens police officer Michael McClatchy pulled over a truck going 63 mph in a 35 mph zone, and driving that truck was Clemson University head football coach Dabo Swinney.

McClatchty issued a reduced ticket fror the 27 mph infraction.

On Monday, that officer was fired. In a press release issued Friday, police chief Rodney Gregory said that was attributable to McClatchy's posting of the incident on a sports messaging board with department computer equipment.

I'll point you to the Pickens County Courier for more, and you can check out the police dashcam video up top.
