Members of the Charleston community will come together on April 9th for the second annual Run for Adela 5K Race, held in memory of Adela Holmes Cook, a Bishop England senior who tragically passed away in 2009.

The 5K foot race is the one and only official race to ever be held on Sullivan's Island. The race will begin at 8:30 a.m. at Station 16 and continues along the beach for the entirety of the run.

Over 600 runners participated in the 2010 event, raising over $40,000 to fun the Adela Holmes Cook Foundation. This year, proceeds from the race will be donated to Camp Happy Days, a year round program for kids with cancer.

Registration for the 5K is open and costs $25 per person.
