Update: South Carolina beats UConn 8-2 to win the Super Regional two games to none. There next stop is Omaha to defend their 2010 National title.

Update: Friday's game schedule

Coastal Carolina vs Connecticut @3PM

Clemson vs Sacred Heart @7PM

South Carolina vs Georgia Southern @ 7PM 


Update:  CCU took the regional 3 seed and will play Connecticut in the first game of the double-elimination regional Friday at 3 p.m. at Clemson's Doug Kingsmore Stadium. Top-seeded Clemson will play No. 4 Sacred Heart on Friday as well.

The University Of South Carolina opens its defense of a national championship Friday night against Georgia Southern in Columbia, South Carolina. The two other teams in their region are Stetson and N.C. State.

First ReportThe Coastal Carolina Chanticleers (CCU) baseball team pounded the Gardner-Webb Bulldogs 6-1 on Saturday in Lexington, Virginia. The win solidifies CCU as the Big South Conference Tournament champs and gives them an automatic berth in the NCAA Tournament.

Jordan Coons, CCU's starting pitcher, threw seven scoreless innings to take the win. The Chants bats came alive with Rich Witten and Dan Bowman each hommering in the win over Gardner-Webb. 

Keith Hardwick, a former student of Carolina Forest High School, was named tournament MVP. Hardwick, the desiginated hitter, had six hits in 14 at-bats with four RBI.

Coastal Carolina University now waits on the NCAA tournament selection whitch will be show on ESPN on Monday at 12:30.
