In final preseason match Battery best Carolina Railhawks

The Battery looked took down the Carolina Railhawks  with a 1-0 victory in a late preseason home match on Saturday.

The Charleston soccer team haven’t lost since mid February and will have some great momentum going into the regular season.

Shots did not come easily in this game, but the Battery were able to capitalize on an opportunity in the first half and take the 1-0 lead. Nicki Patterson received a cross at the left post and was able to flick the ball on to Cuevas who volleyed it past the Carolina keeper for the score.

Quinton Griffith pressed the issue during the match but was unable to come away with a goal. He created some great opportunities with runs down the sideline and had two shots on goal but both were easily corralled by the keeper.

The Battery’s play has been very promising lately and they will definitely be looking to move things forward as the season progresses.
