press release

Mystical Golf, owner and operator of the award-winning Witch, Man-O-War and Wizard golf courses, announces its ninth-annual Christmas Child Golf Tournament will take place Saturday, December 15.

All proceeds directly benefit young people at the Lighthouse Care Center of Conway, S.C. and Lighthouse Care Center of Augusta, Ga., as well as the McDonald’s Angel Tree project. Last year’s event raised more than $14,000, bringing the grand total of donations to $114,000 since 2003.

The Lighthouse facilities care for children from the ages of 12-17 suffering from behavioral disorders. Funds generated provide activities as rewards for good conduct. They include a trip to Carowinds Amusement Park, monthly movie screenings, bowling, putt-putt golf, Carolina College football games and an annual trip to the Alabama Theatre Christmas Show. Additionally, as a Christmas gift, kids are presented with a new pair of shoes of their own choosing.

“Bringing joy to kids in need during the holidays is what our annual Christmas Child golf tournament is all about [...] The outpouring of support we receive from the community allows us to help these youngsters get on the path to a promising future.”

-Claude Pardue, President and CEO.

This year’s event will once again be played on The Wizard and Man-O-War golf courses. The format is Captain’s Choice. Prizes with be awarded for “Longest Drive” and “Closest to the Pin.” Raffle and mulligan packages will be available for purchase. The cost is $65 per player or $260 per team (lunch included).
