Two College of Charleston athletes are preparing to compete on the world's grandest sporting stage - the 2012 Summer Olympic Games in London, England. Senior sailor Juan Maegli and senior point guard Andrew Lawrence will be going for the gold.

Maegli, who earned ICSA All-American honors and won the ICSA/Laser Performance Men's Singlehanded Championship in 2010 as a sophomore, has represented his home country of Guatemala in the sport of sailing since he was eight years old.

College of Charleston men's basketball 6-foot-1 rising senior point guard Andrew Lawrence (London, England) becomes the first-ever men's basketball player in school history to earn a spot on the Great Britain Olympic Team roster. Lawrence scored six points and added three rebounds and three assists in Great Britain's 118-78 loss to Team USA in pre-Olympic Games exhibition play on Thursday, July 25.
