Yankees trade former RiverDog standout to the Texas Rangers

The New York Yankees have traded former RiverDog Mitch Hilligoss3 to the Texas Rangers for outfield prospect Greg Golson.

A former Purdue standout, Hilligoss enjoyed one of the best all-around seasons in RiverDogs history as the team’s third baseman in 2007. The former sixth round selection in 2006 finished with a .310 average in 128 games while tying for the South Atlantic League lead with 160 base hits and leading the team with 35 doubles and 35 stolen bases. He was also named to the SAL Midseason All-Star Game, in which he won the game’s MVP award, and was a member of the league’s postseason All-Star Team.
