Four local Piggly Wiggly grocery stores are participating in the chain's new "click' n shop" service.
A map of the local stores offering the online service.
The basic deal is this: You shop at home on your computer and then pick it up at least four hours later. A $5 service fee is charged.
So, if you just need milk and bread, it's probably not your thing. But if you're stocking up the cupboards, it's probably well worth the $5 and advance notice.
I should also mention that all the in-store discounts and coupons are still valid when shopping online.
Here's a link to the online store service.
The State has done a story that gives a little more depth as to what and why on The Pig's new service.
