While metro Charleston saw a significant drop in homicides, rural Colleton intensified

While area police are proud to see new strategies result in a significant dip in homicides in the tri-county area, they've been alarmed by a continuing rise in Colleton County. 

A rise which was heavily influenced by the killing of three in one drive-by shooting in Walterboro. 

The Post and Courier has done a story on the matter and walks us through many of the efforts the police have been trying and where they think the success in the metro area came from. But as for why there's been a surge in Colleton, no one has any solid answers or solutions.
