With the cut of a ribbon, a $750 million Boeing 787 plant opens in North Charleston

After 18 months and $750 million, Boeing's 1.1-million-square-foot 787 final assembly is finished six months ahead of schedule.

On Friday, a ribbon cutting ceremony was held; next month, the thousands of workers will report.

If you'd like details on the ceremony, I'll direct you to The Post and Courier's report or Live 5 News' video. The Charleston Regional Business Journal has a worthy report, too.

There are no looks inside the facility (not yet, that is), but if you're curious about what the plant will look and function like, check out this look at the Seattle doppelganger
