Four area students arrested on drug charges

Four students from three different schools were arrested after being caught with drugs at school.

An 18-year-old student at West Ashley High School, Jesse Sebastian Broughton, was arrested after five grams of marijuana was found in his lock and $75 was found on his person. He faces these two charges: possession of marijuana with intent to distribute and possession with intesnt to distrubute near a school.

A 15-year-old West Ashley High School student was also arrested for possession of a controlled substance and possession of marijuana. He later confessed that he purchased the marijuana from Broughton.

A 15-year-old student at St. John's High School was arrested Monday for possession of marijuana after being seen exchanging the drug on school grounds.

The fourth arrest involved a 17-year-old Cathedral Academy student, who was arrested after drug paraphernalia was found in his book bag and a gram of marijuana was found in his wallet. This arrest occured on March 10th.
