Update November 19: It was chilly indeed, but the official low at the Charleston Air Station only reached 32.

We're expected to warm up a bit, but lows will still be near-freezing. Here's the forecast from the National Weather Service:
This Afternoon: Sunny, with a high near 50. North wind around 9 mph.

Tonight: Clear, with a low around 33. Calm wind becoming west between 5 and 8 mph.

Thursday: Sunny, with a high near 61. West wind between 10 and 14 mph.

Thursday Night: Mostly clear, with a low around 37. North wind between 7 and 9 mph.

Friday: Sunny, with a high near 57. North wind between 10 and 13 mph.

Friday Night: Mostly clear, with a low around 32.

Original post: Get ready for the first good freeze of the season. The forecast low is for a frigid 28 degrees.

Here's part of the freeze warning from The National Weather Service:
Temperatures will quickly plummet to around freezing between midnight and 3 am tonight. Several hours of freezing temperatures can be expected with overnight lows ranging from 28 to 32 degrees away from the immediate coast. Coastal islands and places within a couple miles of the beach may drop to around freezing for an hour or two prior to sunrise.

This freeze will likely kill any sensitive outdoor plants that have not been covered or brought indoors. Now is the time to take precautionary action to save your plants.

Also, winds are expected to calm down, but will still be a brisk 11 to 14 mph.

So, remember to bring in or cover sensitive outdoor plants and let your pipes drip.
