Tropical depression forms off Charleston's coast

Original post: The clouds that have been hovering for the last two days have finally formed into a tropical depression, but the system is not expected to make landfall near Charleston, nor is it expected to rapidly develop.

Get the latest on storms on our weather topic page.The current trajectory has the storm making landfall, if at all, late Sunday near the Cape Hatteras in North Carolina. By morning the depression is expected be relatively due east of Charleston.

Little more than scattered showers are expected for our area.
