S.C. Organ donors will finally be able to

If you've declared yourslef an organ donor on your drivers license, it has done little good in the Palmetto State.

But all that is changing on Wednesday, January 14, when South Carolina finally joins a registry that tracks which people have opted to be organ donors.

That registry is run by the nonprofit Donate Life.

The State reports, in part:
“Unless the driver’s license was around when someone died, it did no good,” said Mark Johnson, spokesman for LifePoint Inc., the organ recovery service designated by the federal government for South Carolina. “Now there is a legal record of your wishes.”

Hop over to The State for the story.
