$320,000 in bonuses to principals raises eyebrows
$320,000 in bonuses to Charleston County principals.
Given what's happened at AIG, it's a fact that is understandably gaining attention.
Right now the money is used mainly to encourage principals to stay at low-performing schools, but Superintendent Nancy McGinley is pushing to have the system retooled to be awarded based on performance.
Seems pretty logical to me.
The Post and Courier has a good breakdown of what the program is and how it works, while News 2 has one-upped them and offers a spreadsheet of what each principal gets.
