The National Institute of Standards and Technology has released the final report on the Sofa Super Store fire that took place on June 18, 2007 and took the lives of nine Charleston firefighters.

Some of the reports key findings include that sprinklers most likely would have contained the fire to the loading dock, preventing it from spreading to the showroom.

The NIST has also made 11 recommendations for improving firefighter, building, and occupant safety throughout the nation due to this report.
