With the success of last year’s trip, the Charleston Metro Chamber of Commerce is once again offering a nine day trip to China, March 6 - 14, in an effort to see the changing business climate and to gain insight into the Chinese culture.

Check out the details in the press release below:

The trip includes tours to ancient sites, such as the Great Wall, Forbidden City, Temple of Heaven and Tian An Men Square. Excursions include visiting the Ming Tombs and Lingering Garden and a boat cruise on West Lake with stopovers at jewel-like pagodas and tea houses. In addition, there will be visits to an Economic Development Zone and optional shopping or cultural tours.

• Roundtrip airfare from JFK to Beijing (travel to JFK from Charleston not included)
• Airfare within China
• 5-star and 4-star hotels
• 3 meals daily
• Deluxe bus tours
• English-speaking guides
• Meeting Chinese business cooperation partners
• Admission to tours, attractions and airport taxes

Last Spring 118 people went on this adventure with the Chamber. “The March 2009 Chamber Trip to China was the trip of a lifetime for me! It continues to be an experience which delights and inspires. The Chinese people, without exception, were well-mannered, friendly and helpful. Our hotels were magnificent with silk bed linens, fancy showers, the most up-to-date technology, quiet and comfortable,” said Patricia Johnson, trip attendee.

“Our trip was planned well and the accommodations were wonderful. You can hear about Shanghai and you see the wall on TV, but to be right there…standing on the wall is awesome. We did not have one mishap, from the bus picking us up, after touring the Forbidden City, to the air flights, everything went smooth. This is a trip that was fun and so informative,” said Dottie Karst, CPC, CSP, President, Charles Foster.

There will be a free trip orientation at the Chamber, Tuesday, October 27, from 5:30 to 7 p.m. For more information or to fill out an application contact Emily Brown at (843) 805-3042.
