Verde, the quick-and-easy salad concept that took residence on King Street in 2011, opens a second location today. The new location, at 730 Coleman Boulevard in the Brookgreen Shopping Center in Mount Pleasant, will open its doors at 11 a.m. today.

Known for its create-your-own salad bar, offering more than 45 different ingredients, the new location will feature the same signature ingredients, salads, wraps, and homemade dressings as fans enjoy at the downtown location.

“We couldn’t be more excited to open our second area location,” said owner Jennifer Ferrebee. “My husband Sam and I have really grown to know our customers at our downtown location and feel like we’re a real part of the community there. As Mt. Pleasant residents ourselves, we look forward to getting to know a new set of faces, and deliver a much-needed quick and healthy lunch option to on-the-go Mt. Pleasant residents.”

All Verde salads can be served in a bowl, chopped or tossed, or put into a whole-wheat wrap as a sandwich. They are either meant to be a full meal, or can serve as a great option for families who want to pick up a quick salad to serve with whatever entrée they’re making for the night.

New from Verde, and only available at the Mt. Pleasant location, will be the restaurant’s “Beach Bag” special, for beach goers and summer picnics. The special will feature a wrap, chips, and bottled water – served in a beach-ready tote – for $10. 

“We hope to be a regular stop for those traveling out to area beaches for the day,” said Ferrebee. “If guests call ahead, we will even bring the bag out to the car so they don’t miss valuable sun time.”

Verde will maintain its same business hours at both locations, offering lunch and dinner service from 11 a.m. – 9 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 11 a.m. – 5 p.m. on Sundays.
