 WINGS FOR KIDS – RECIPIENT OF WHOLE FOODS MARKET 5% DAY

 

CHARLESTON -June 11, 2014WINGS for kids, an education program that teaches kids how to behave well, make good decisions and build healthy relationships is on-tap to be the recipient of Whole Foods Market’s 5% Day. The Whole Foods Market Community Giving program is dedicated to local nonprofits with limited budgets trying to make a difference in the community. On Tuesday June 24th, 2014, five percent of the net sales at the Mt Pleasant Whole Foods Market will be donated to WINGS.

 

“We are so honored to be chosen as the recipient of Whole Foods Market’s 5% Day. We strive to teach at-risk kids the skills that will help them succeed and flourish,” said Eleanor Smythe, South Carolina Executive Director. “Partnering with Whole Foods allows us to spread the message that social and emotional skills matter.”

About WINGS for kids

WINGS for kids began in 1996 in Charleston, S.C. It is the only U.S. organization focusing on teaching social and emotional learning skills to elementary kids in an after school setting. It currently serves 600 students across four schools in Charleston County (Memminger Elementary, Chicora Elementary, North Charleston Elementary and Edmund A. Burns Elementary School).
