Black History Month at The Citadel

The Citadel celebrates Black History Month 2014

The Citadel invites the community to visit campus for a celebration of Black History Month that will consist of three events:

• The Annual Black History Month Bazaar, held from 10a.m. – 3 p.m., Sat., Feb. 1. The Annual Black History Month Bazaar includes live music, exhibits, food and other attractions. The event will be held at the college’s Buyer Auditorium in Mark Clark Hall. There is no admission fee and parking is free.

• On Feb. 8, The Citadel will host the Mu Alpha Chapter of Omega Psi Phi Annual Black History Quiz Bowl. Elementary, middle and high school teams will test their knowledge about black history and compete for awards and recognition as the Black History Quiz Bowl Champions. The event will be held at 9a.m. in Grimsley Hall’s Copeland Auditorium.

• On Feb. 27, One Voice will be presented at 6:30p.m. in Grimsley Hall’s Copeland Auditorium. One Voice is a journey through the African American experience by virtue of eight powerful and influential voices as presented by one man, Jeremiah Dew. The experts representing powerful African Americans including President Barack Obama and actor Bill Cosby are interspersed with powerful video pieces.
