Free Spring Concert Series Returns to Freshfields Village

Welcome a new season at Freshfields Village during its three-part Spring Concert Series on the Village Green. These free, family-friendly concerts will begin on Friday, April 11 from 6 to 9 p.m., and will take place every Friday in April. Featured local acts will cover a wide range of musical genres.

Scheduled performances include:

Friday, April 11: Shrimp City Slim Shrimp City Slim, aka Gary Erwin, is a singer-songwriter in Charleston, SC with over 25 years of experience. He performs more than 150 shows per year, and has shared the stage with living legends such as BB King, Buddy Guy and James Cotton. Specializing in blues and blues-based originals, Shrimp City Slim will surely excite and engage audiences with his unique flair and funk.

Friday, April 18: Shem Creek Boogie Band The Shem Creek Boogie Band is a local group from Charleston that certainly knows how to get down. Boasting a broad range, they play everything from classic rock and country to soul and pop. This tight-knit group of musically inclined fellas provides an entertaining experience every time they hit the stage.

Friday, April 25: Port Authority – You would never know Port Authority was a relatively new band from their on-stage chemistry. The group is comprised of four talented musicians who deliver timeless hits from the ‘60s to today. Dabbling in Motown, Classic Rock, Beach Music and more, they are guaranteed to get people moving and grooving,

The Spring Concert Series is sponsored by Charleston Magazine and Barrier Island Marine. Food and beverage will be available for purchase, and guests are encouraged to bring a beach chair or blanket.
