Atlantic Stage Presents the 2nd Annual New voices Playfest

Atlantic Stage presents the 2nd Annual New Voices Playfest, April 11-14 at 79th Avenue Theatre inside the Coastal Carolina University Myrtle Beach Education Center. The playfest features plays by local and national playwrights, many of who will be here to participate and receive feedback. Kevin D. Ferguson, Atlantic Stage playwright-in-residence and chair of the playfest committee says "Playfest is an opportunity to hear theatrical works being read while they are in the midst of the creative process. For audience members, it's a chance to be on the ground floor while a play is being created and to give feedback to playwrights and actors. For the playwright, it is an opportunity to hear their work read see and audience reaction in order to fine tune the play. Today's play reading might be tomorrow's next new production."

This spring two of last years New Voices Playfest readings are being produced locally; Child's Play by Atlantic Stage, April 25- May 12 and The Porch by the Swamp Fox Players, May 10-May 26.
