CCU, Horry County want to know what recreational facilities and programs locals want

Does Horry County need more ballfields? How about wider walking trails? Additional indoor or outdoor facilities? Most importantly, where should the money come from to pay for new amenities?

These are the kinds of questions county officials hope the public will help them answer.

Horry County and Coastal Carolina University recently launched a research project aimed at finding ways to improve the area’s recreational offerings.

They expect to learn some of that information through a wide-ranging survey that’s been added to the county’s website, horrycounty.org. The survey asks about everything from athletic fields to nature parks to boat landings.
