Conway businesses could be smoke free by March.

City Council members voted 4-2 Monday night to ban smoking at private companies. Violators would be fined $100 and business owners who allow smoking could also face penalties. The ordinance would not impact private residences.

If the council gives final approval to the new policy later this month, the ordinance would not take effect for 60 days, allowing the community to adjust to the new regulations.
