Country Music Video Filmed in Myrtle Beach Area Premieres

The Myrtle Beach area was showcased in a music video for country music up-and-comers Dan + Shay. Now, that video is receiving airplay on CMT. It was released to the country music video station at midnight on Jan. 27.

The video is for the group’s debut single, “19 You + Me.” In November, the musicians and a film crew came to the Grand Strand to film the video in several of the Myrtle Beach area’s most well-known locations.

"We had a great time shooting the music video ‘19 You + Me’ with country music artist Dan + Shay in the Myrtle Beach area. With such a diverse set of locations to choose from our biggest challenge was narrowing down the list. The team from VisitMyrtleBeach.com was especially helpful with getting this video made in Myrtle Beach. We look forward to coming back," said Jeff King, from CMS International.

“This music video will be a fantastic tool in helping us promote and market our Myrtle Beach destination to millenials,” said Brad Dean, president and CEO of the Myrtle Beach Area Chamber of Commerce. “We’re thankful Warner Music Nashville chose Myrtle Beach as the shooting location, and we have enjoyed a wonderful working relationship with them ever since. All the hard work has paid off now that the music video is receiving airplay.”

Dan + Shay met in December 2012 and quickly hit it off with their musical similarities. The two are currently in the studio in Nashville, Tenn., recording their debut album. It is expected to be released in 2014 and will feature the single “19 You + Me.”
