Tchaikovsky and the Romantic Spirit - The Long Bay Symphony

The Long Bay Symphony, featuring Ken Olsen, sello soloist, highlights works by two rival titans of the Romantic period:  Johannes Brahms, in a popular concert overture incorporating a collection of college fraternity songs; and, Piotr Tchaikovsky, with a triumphant emotional journey through one of his most beloved symphonies.  Plus, a look at the "serious" side of operetta composer Victor Herbert, featuring Chicago Symphony associate principal cellist Ken Olsen.
