Horry County Schools Superintendent Cindy Elsberry will receive a severance package worth nearly $430,000.

The terms of her package, which were released Wednesday, include health insurance coverage until December 2016 and an annual leave payout of $40,193.25. The total amount of Elsberry’s payout is $428,495.97.

Elsberry announced her resignation Nov. 17 before a Board of Education meeting.

The agreement also allows for: a payout of $109,861.56 for six months of regular salary; a payout of $5,100 for six months of travel allowance; and a payout of $40,193.25 for 45 days of annual leave.
