Myrtle Beach awards $817,500 in accommodations tax grants

The Oceanfront Merchants Association is again Myrtle Beach’s largest recipient of accommodations tax money, receiving $140,000 after the City Council approved a motion allocating the grants.

Myrtle Beach City Council appropriated $817,500 last week to outside agencies seeking grants from the city.

Additionally, council approved more than $4.1 million in accommodations tax money to city entities for things such as beach renourishment, Myrtle Beach Convention Center marketing and public safety.
