The Kings Highway Vacant Building Re-Use Committee is proposing to make Kings Highway slower with the goal of increasing more stops for retail shopping. 

Whether you agree with the logic or not, my personal experience of driving Kings Highway is most tourists already drive well below the current 45 mph speed limit... usually in formation across all three lanes. The bright spot to this proposal is it may make the City of Myrtle Beach even more pedestrian and bicycle friendly. The Sun News has more details about the proposal here.
