Myrtle Beach teen sentenced to prison after guilty plea in fatal DUI crash

A Myrtle Beach teen pleaded guilty to reckless homicide and felony driving under the influence in connection with a fatal crash in April in Socastee, according to court records.

Austin Blake Leroy, 18, of Myrtle Beach pleaded guilty to the charges Wednesday and was sentenced under the Youthful Offender Act by Circuit Court Judge Larry Hyman.

Leroy was ordered to be held not to exceed five years on each charge, and the sentences will run concurrently, according to court records. Leroy’s license was suspended and he must pay court costs and a $5,000 fine.
