Myrtle Beach’s Everett Golson leaving Notre Dame

Everett Golson is leaving Notre Dame.

The former Myrtle Beach High star quarterback will be headed to another school to play the final season of college career. The news was first reported by ESPN.

Attempts to reach Golson were not immediately successful. A statement has not yet been released from Notre Dame. Myrtle Beach football coach Mickey Wilson confirmed the report and said he would have a statement later today.

Golson, who enrolled at Notre Dame in January 2011, redshirted his first year. In 2012, as a freshman, he led the Irish to the BCS National Championship game, where Notre Dame lost to Alabama.
