Sweeney Todd Accepts Canned Meats and Food for the Lowcountry Food Bank

In the lead-up to the concert production of Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street, CCU’s Cultural Arts Program will host a food drive benefiting the Lowcountry Food Bank in the Thomas W. and Robin W. Edwards College of Humanities and Fine Arts and Wheelwright Auditorium from Sept. 3 to 13.  Those who donate canned meats, proteins and vegetables will receive a $3 discount on ticket prices.  Discounts are also avaialble at the Horry County Branch of the Lowcountry Foodbank at 200 Broadway Street near downtown Myrtle Beach.

In addition to receiving a discount to see Sweeney Todd, donors can rest assured that their canned proteins are among the most desperately needed and appreciated items by the Lowcountry's hungry.  Not only to canned items provide nutritional value, but they are much easier to prepare and store.  For more information on needed items from the Lowcountry Food Bank, see this flyer or visit http://lowcountryfoodbank.org .
