USA Today: Most romantic wedding locales in South Carolina

USA Today ran a piece today titled "Most Romantic Wedding Locales in South Carolina" and the Grand Strand's own Brookgreen Gardens and Pawleys Island made the list.

What did USA Today have to say about Brookgreen Gardens?

Weddings can take place just about anywhere within Brookgreen's 9,000 park-like acres, where more than 1,400 works of art are set with trees, blooming shrubs, fountains, ponds and intricate hedges to create sumptuous outdoor galleries. The colors are at their peak during the spring, when the azaleas are in bloom, but no matter the season, "it's massive and breathtakingly beautiful," says Tara Guerard of Charleston-based event company Soiree by Tara Guerard. "What I love is the diversity. You can marry in one of the formal outdoor garden rooms, which offer a bit of privacy, or under a giant live oak tree hung with lanterns." brookgreen.org

and what about Pawleys?

You'd be hard-pressed to find a more natural setting for a beach wedding than Pawleys Island, where South Carolinians vacation in historic 19th-century beach houses set under even older live oak trees alive with colorful birds like painted buntings and red-wing blackbirds. Hold a post-wedding shrimp boil at one of the many rental homes available on the island, at one of the many restaurants located across a short causeway on the mainland or, during spring and fall, at the Sea View Inn, a rustic but sweet 20-room inn on the beach. seaviewinn.com

Some of the additional South Carolina destinations include The Sanctuary at Kiawah Island, Boone Hall Plantation, and Charleston Harbor Resort. Read the full list of the best wedding spots in SC right here
