A dead man found floating in the Intracoastal Waterway Thursday afternoon was recently identified and his cause of death was determined to be from a “cardiac event,” according to Horry County Deputy Coroner Tony Hendrick.

Anthony M. Windham, 56, of Surfside Beach and Florence suffered the “cardiac event” while on or near the water, and did not drown, Hendrick said.

Windham was found about 4:15 p.m. Thursday by boaters in the waterway at Enterprise Boat Landing in Socastee, authorities said.
