Update: Man charged after deadly hit-and-run car crash in Conway

A 23-year-old Conway man was arrested in connection with a fatal hit-and-run crash that occurred early Wednesday morning and left one woman dead, according to Lt. Selena Small with the Conway Police Department.

Corey Devon Long was arrested Thursday following a joint investigation between Conway Police Department and the South Carolina Highway Patrol Multidisciplinary Accident Investigation and charged with one count of hit-and-run and duties of a driver involved in an accident with death, Small said.

Conway police responded to the scene of the deadly car crash at 1:10 a.m. Wednesday at the 3400 block of U.S. 701 South and determined the crash to be a head-on collision involving two cars, police said.

Brittany Renae Custer, 24 of Myrtle Beach, was killed during the crash after suffering head injuries, authorities said.
