The whole of South Carolina was labeled a federal disaster area thanks to the heavy rains that have inundated farmers' crops, and now those that suffered losses can receive low-interest loans.

Crop damage is reported to be above 30 percent in the Palmetto State as rain totals reach a foot more than average for this time in the year.

Here's the full list of S.C. counties that qualified for as "primary" disaster areas: Abbeville, Aiken, Allendale, Anderson, Bamberg, Barnwell, Beaufort, Cherokee, Chester, Chesterfield, Colleton, Edgefield, Fairfield, Greenville, Greenwood, Hampton, Jasper, Kershaw, Lancaster, Laurens, Lexington, McCormick, Newberry, Richland, Saluda, Spartanburg, Union, York. Farmers in those areas and neighboring areas are also eligible for emergency aid; more details are here.
