Of the Trask properties put up for auction, few sell

Remember how in an apparent attempt to quickly sell a number of family properties (and iconic Beaufort spots), John Trask III put several locations up for auction on March 15?

Well, The Island Packet followed up and the 220-acre Cane Island, Port Republic Square (home of Nippy's, the old Piggly Wiggly, and a surface parking lot that for years has been talked about as the site of a parking deck), and a four-bedroom Bay Street mansion all did not sell and only a few minor properties out near Lowe's did.

Ouch.
