Around 2:15 p.m. on Thursday, April 21, the Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office responded to a call of gunshots on Seaside Road [map below] on St. Helena Island and found 19-year-old Kenneth Trey Nichols with multiple wounds.

As police searched for perpetrators, 19-year-old Jabari Linnen turned himself in and now faces charges of attempted murder and possession of a firearm during the comission of a violent crime. King David Williams, 19, was arrested on an unrelated outstanding bench warrant and one count of accessory after the fact.

Police say that the "case remains active as investigators continue to explore the series of events leading up to and following the shooting. Nichols remains hospitalized in Savannah in undisclosed condition, but is expected to recover from his injuries."
