In video: Candice Glover gets rave reviews for 'Lovesong' on American Idol

St. Helena Island native Candice Glover continued her performances on American Idol on Wednesday night, singing two songs, Dionne Warwick's "Don't Make Me Over" and The Cure's "Lovesong".

The video from the latter performance is viewable up top, and it earned very high marks, with Randy Jackson commenting that the performance was, “One of the greatest performances in the history of Idol."

Glover's "Don't Make Me Over" rendition was also well received with it receiving a standing ovation from the judges; see the video of that performance below.

At this point Glover seems destined to take the top achieving contestant ever from South Carolina. If she can pass into the top five on Thursday, she will advance past the current leader from South Carolina, Mount Pleasant's Elise Testone who also made it into the top six in 2012.

You can watch tonight's results show, April 11, from 8 to 9. The final show is slated for May 16.
