First reporting: The University of South Carolina Beaufort plans to host a Beaufort arts festival in early March.

The "Celebrate the Arts" festival, which is sponsored by the University's Osher Life Long Learning Institute, is slated to begin on the afternoon of Friday, March 4, with a high school art competition followed by student-conducted tours of the campus. Students who place in the top three will be awarded arts scholarships of $3,000, $2,000, and $1,000 respective.

Artist Johnathan Green is hosting a lecture that same evening. Reservations are required, call (843) 208-8247 for more information.

The Festival will conclude on Saturday, March 5, with what the University is deeming an "family festival."
