Come learn: Business is social and Facebook is the medium of choice

Presenting at TEDXCC May 2011

Three-quarters of small businesses are already active social media marketers and Facebook is the social medium of choice for 95% of small businesses, according to a survey conducted by Constant Contact and released on May 16, 2011.

As a marketing professional with a focus in online and social media such news is not surprising to Ian Leslie.  He manages local, national and international social media accounts that net more than 1 million impressions and works diligently with his clients to design, develop and maintain a presence on Facebook that makes a difference in the brand management of their product or service. "Having a presence on Facebook is important, but it's just as important that you're doing everything you can to maximize your presence and track your successes. Facebook, just like any other marketing campaign, has a set of best practices that you must follow in order to achieve a maximum return on investment," says Leslie.

The Facebook for Businesses class taught by Leslie at the Technical College of the Lowcountry (TCL) will highlight best practices that businesses must use to get the most out of a Facebook presence.  The class will also emphasize how tracking a business’ presence using Facebook’s analytic tools permits the business to remain nimble in a world of equally savvy consumers.

TCL offers the Facebook for Businesses course on Wednesday, May 25th 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. at TCL’s Beaufort campus. The cost to attend this course is $79 per person. Those attending should have a basic understanding of how to use Facebook and a Facebook account.
