Update October 28: Not too much coverage on this year's event, but The Island Packet does have one cute photo.

See that photo here.

Now, good luck to the kids trick or treating on the 31st (Yes, it seems everyone is going trick or treating on Monday).

First reporting: This year's annual downtown merchant trick-or-treating session is back in downtown Beaufort and will be paired with this month's movie in the park, Beetlejuice.

Kids will be able to visit downtown businesses in the spirit of the spooky season for goodies from 5 to 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, October 27. After the trick-or-treating ends, the movie will begin in the Waterfront Park.

And note that Bay Street will be closed in downtown from Carteret to Charles streets.

Oh, and do note that most cities in the area are observing normal trick-or-treating on Monday.
