What, when, and how: Come out to the free Parris Island 4th of July celebration

The Marine Corps Recruit Depot Parris Island will hold a Fourth of July Celebration with fireworks, refreshments, childrens features, and the Parris Island Band. 

The event is open to the community and no special pass or invitation is required. Be prepared to show your drivers' license, proof of insurance and registration when you arrive at the main gate. — and be sure to be buckled up.

Details:

  • 4th of July at MCRD Parris Island
  • Gates open at 5 p.m.
  • Fireworks start at approx. 9:30 p.m.
  • Located at the Parade Deck
  • Handicap parking will be available
  • Coolers, blankets and lawn chairs are permitted

Gates open at 5 p.m. for free hot dogs, chips, soda, water, cotton candy and cracker jacks. Mobile Mountain Kids Zone, as seen at the 2011 MCAS Beaufort Air Show, will be providing free fun for the kids. They will have quad jumps, bounce houses, a rock climbing wall, and a "paintball" combat zone. Tux the Clown will also be making an appearance.

For adults, beer will be availalbe for purchase. To round out the night, the Parris Island Band will be performing stirring patriotic music as well as pop hits. The famed fireworks extravaganza will be starting at approximately 9:30 p.m.
